Introduction Blog

  Welcome, My name is Lucas Alves, I grew up in one of Brazil's biggest cities, Sao Paulo. I came to the United States as a kid at just 5 years old when my parents decided it was going to be a better opportunity for me. I moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Growing up in Florida was definitely an adjustment cause I didn't know English. I had to teach myself English from TV shows like Sponge Bob and Johnny Test and ELL classes for not native English speakers. My parents' decision 12 years ago was the best decision cause now I live in the land of opportunity and there is no stopping someone like me with a drive to succeed. I am now 17 years old and attend the wonderful school of Fort Lauderdale High School, where my favorite subject is business. Speaking on business, I want to attend college for a Bachelor's degree In business and marketing. I love every aspect of it, whether it be money and finances to learning the steps to open a business. After college, I plan on opening my own diesel mechanic shop within 5 years after college. I have a strong fascination with Diesel automobiles and Boats, On my personal car, I even pulled the engine to build it for more diesel power. But one other thing that I enjoy doing is Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, I've been doing it for about 7 years now. Recently I achieved the ranking of the purple belt which is almost to a black belt which is the best of the best. I attend tournaments and really love the sport. On to other aspects of my life such as my family dynamics. All of my extended family is still in Brazil, Although I visit them 3 times a year I still wish they were here with me. My immediate family is here with me thankfully. I live with my father and mother, and I also have a younger sister who is 2 years younger than me, although she can sometimes be a little frustrating but I love her so much. I also happen to have a dog named Sandy, she is a rottweiler who thinks she's a lap dog. Well, that's the simple introduction to my life, Thanks for reading.
